Allison L. Kuhr is a graphic designer and illustrator with a passion for accessible design, print production, and visual storytelling. She has experience in printmaking, commercial illustration, visual development, and event collateral. She especially loves typesetting and editorial layouts, and always prioritizes accessibility in her work.
Allison is an alumna of Toledo School for the Arts, where she majored in graphic design before graduating from Bowling Green State University in 2019 with a degree in art and Spanish. She went on to work in commercial illustration and now works full time as an in-house graphic designer. She believes in the power of evocative, visual media to create meaningful connections, and strives to portray a triumphant love of life through vibrant expression.
Following best practice in advocacy spaces, Allison employs a person-first approach in her work. This means designing with the audience in mind, handling their language with respect, and making people from all walks of life feel seen and included. She believes that creativity is intrinsic to the lived human experience, and so application of artificial intelligence has no place in her work. Each project that she designs is done with dignity, integrity, and respect for the human creative process.
